One last mowing, one final driveway drag, and cleanup and Sta-Bil for winter (tractor and PW only, of course). Blew out the PW instead of using RV anti-freeze this time. Why have I not done this before???
And a nice sunset to finish the day...
Nice!
This is next on the list...think it's going to be an early winter here.
Great to see you're having a blast Brew! Which truck did you fix? The Super Duty or the Gen 10? Seems like they both needed a little TLC.
I've got a few things to do to my daughter's Escape before winter. I bought her some new tires. Those should arrive about a week from today. I am also going to modify the oil filter adapter setup on it. I am sick to death of fixing it, then having it start leaking again. It has an oil cooler from the factory, and it has been a thorn in my side for several years now. I am going to put a non-cooled adapter on it, like my 2011 Escape has. No more POS plastic gasket.
These are junk! I am hoping to hop on this tonight after we deliver the Dodge back to the dealer.

But we live to modify things for the better don't we..... personally and for the the greater good ?? To be honest.. more so just to get by.
The 1 ton, haven't seen the 98 in awhile. One of those things that gets borrowed I'll have to go get if I want it back I guess lol. Yea, I hate that.
Had to modify the coils (boot springs) to retain a resistor for on most of them. Absolutely no help on the internet. It was either that or purchase new coils just for that. Coils are heavy in price for that thing.,,..from Ford anyway. Had to purchase one coil though. The housing split on that one which arched next to the knock sensor producing a DTC the dealership didn't want to mess with....and why I got the truck so cheap way back when. Lucked out there for sure...easy fix.. If the mice didn't have their way with after I stored it, it would of been much easier lol. Most guys say 4 hours for a plug change (16 spark plugs) . It took me all of 2 days. But I cleaned, greased, inspected and repaired as I went. That sucks up time.
That's strange you had to do the boot mod, Brew. Seems like the new boots would be the same thing! What a nightmare.
You can purchase aftermarket boot/spring assembles that have a resister. The problem is integrating with the spring. Motorcraft coils have a holder built into the ..built into the bottom of the coils. The holders corrode and fall apart. No way to hold the resister in place. You also can't access the holder section. You can see it through a 1/4" hole...that's all you got.
I had to wow out the springs at the end so that the resister fit inside tightly...like a force fit. Spring now holds it in place.
I go through rubber gloves like crazy anytime I'm around dielectric or anti seize. I still manage to get that shii on my cloths or uh'um... where it doesn't belong.
