Hit it with Iron -x first then the clay bar then polish.
You won't believe how clean it is !
The iron-x works great.
Sprays on clear and turns a purple/red as it breaks down the contaminates on the paint.
The Ram was 2 yrs. old and ran thru car washes, but not hand washed.
You can still see the contaminants dripping off onto the concrete.
Spray it in a clean vehicle and wait 10 minutes and rinse it down.
A second shot if the vehicle is really bad.
Stuff smells terrible, wear gloves when using it.
Man, I always learn stuff a couple weeks late.
I was showing one of my kids how to clean, clay, buff and polish their van. Took forever just to get the grime, mold, algae, gunk out of the paint just to get it clean enough to clay it.
I know about it for next time.
LOL, my Dad had a Chevette too. An 81 two door, and it was yellow.... looked quite a bit like this:
I got The Eight Nine done just in time for the rain. All kinds of lightning and thunder now too. My hands are blue after that. Should've put gloves on, but gloves are for sissy's.
The culprit of the "blue" sitting back there looking innocent.
For The Eight Nine, I used Chemical Guys compete kit. It did a really, really fine job.
My experience with the two.... the Mother's was cheaper, and it did a great job. But the Chemical Guys stuff was the clear cut winner (pun intended).
I cut open the drier from the Escape. I was curious what was in there, but even more curious if this one was starting to come apart inside. That was an issue with some Escapes of this generation. If you've ever wondered... here's what is in there.

I think that's a 76-79. (You can tell by the grille.) My dad had the '81 like the brown one above and a' 76 in this blue. He used both of them like pickup trucks. He broke a spring in the '76 hailing concrete blocks.
