There is a reason all of these AI development guys are quitting, and warning us to STOP, and get this harnessed.

I just mentally tack the $20 onto the bill when I quote a job if it's not something I have done before, or I need specific Assembly or torque specs on.

I have a funny knocking noise coming from the PS bank of my idling 5.4, which seemed to just start one day, out of the blue. It is most noticeable at cold start and becomes almost inaudible when warm. It sounds like it's coming from the exhaust but it doesn't sound like an exhaust leak (which, if IRC, is what a loose spark plug sounds like, too). It's easy to hear reflecting off the floor and from under the truck, but not really noticeable in the engine bay. I'll record it tomorrow, once it's completely cooled off, but I wondered if any of you might have an idea what this could be.

Sure fits the description of a exhaust manifold gasket leak or a cracked manifold.

Make sure it's not something as simple as a plugged or incorrect PCV valve. That can make for the strangest noises on that side...not always easy to pin point.

Also, the 5fours can knock when #4 is not firing. That one sounds just like a rod knock...but isn't.

Here's my noise.

It goes away almost completely when warmed up.

Sounds like piston slap from where I'm sitting. The fact it goes away when it warms up furthers my hunch.
