I don't see it as wrong as I did nothing to cause the issue .
It was offered and I quietly took it.
I feel that no matter how the amount was decided all involved saw the total and signed off on it. Everyone knew the total.
The comments are why I asked for opinions.

The only thing that I would fear is that they would come back for any monies that you were overpaid.
My old boss had the same thing happen to him here at work. They were paying him more than they told him - he questioned it to accounting, and they told him it was correct. The next month, he questioned again - because it was eating at him. Oliver sudden "there was a mistake, and we need to recoup that money back from you". They should have let it go, IMO. But - he had to pay it back.
