State inspections were a joke in Utah too.
Gone now
Cars and trucks are less safe now, but the fraud is GONE
Inspected cars for 40 years myself, and it was truly a joke
They only paid 4 tenths of an hour (24 minutes)
5 minutes of that was paperwork and they wanted a thorough 1 hour long inspection performed
That made some A hole techs sell things to make up for it
And, it was all legal because the book was very plain in its wording about pass / fail
Glad that is gone in Utah, but think all counties need the dyno testing for I/M, not just SL county
if you get a tech who is having a bad day, they will pick your vehicle apart. I had one of my previous vehicles fail because the fog lights did not turn off with the high beams and had to wire in a relay
Even on a good day, they're looking to make you jump through a hoop. I know people that were failed for their windshield wiper blades.

Did they change back to dyno tests? When I was still in SL County, I swear that Jiffy Lube just plugged into my OBD-II - except my Mustang of course.
Tooele County has no emissions, and no inspection. We just pay taxes and get a sticker.

Well... I'm hoping for "fine", lol. I'm not well versed on leaf springs, so maybe I am overthinking it.
CO, I've done some minor research on our leaf spring situation. Everyone says it's pretty normal, and just use a Tonya Harding on them to get 'em back in order. I'll suppose that I'll just pretend I didn't see it now.
I noticed my pinion seal is starting to leak again. I think the pinion flange is my issue.... It was kinda worn, but I rolled with it because a storm was on the way when I did it.
Good to know. Mine are both shifted the same direction and amount, so I bet they got knocked off-roading. I'll give 'em a taste of the old 3 pound motivator and see what happens.
