Years ago, I built this exact model of surround sound processor at DOD Electronics. I worked there in 93-94. Started at my current employer in 95. DOD sold to Harman Kardon, and I ultimately was laid off when the merger took place. It is now known just as Harman, and they are now owned by Samsung. We also built DOD and Digitech guitar pedals, as well as JBL Subwoofers.

Quick question guys. I am getting ready to take my truck in for warranty work to replace a cam timing sensor that keeps getting stuck. It is also time for an oil change, so should I deviate from my preferred standard 5w30 penzoil ultra platinum with a k&n filter or go with a MC 5w20 and MC filter (if I can find one)?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Penzoil Platinum JP, but if the manual calls for 5W20, I'd switch weights, and only MC filters go on my F150 because I've read too much information about anti-drainback/dry-start issues with other filters on Ford trucks. The Evil Empire (Walmart) typically has the MC filters and the best price on oil, although I bought some of Costco's Kirkland oil for less than my previous M1 after seeing Project Farm's tests.

I will always recommend not using a K&N. I'll see if I can find the video that Makuloco did on K&N vs. Motorcraft filters, as he explains it visually. Many of us felt this way already, but he put it in a video.
If you've had luck with an oil you like, the 5W-30 won't hurt anything. I personally have been using Kirkland and Supertech oil lately (both made by Warren).

I started running the Penzoil after watching PF's oil showdown. I have been having a hard time getting the MC filters for my truck anywhere around here lately. Seems pretty strange, but I suppose I can just order a few and keep them on hand.

Hmmm, Ill have to look for that video when I get off work today. They offered the K&N in an oil/filter bundle at my local Advance so I figured why not. My truck has really liked the 5w30 oil and seems to run a little quieter with it, but if it would void my last 5k miles of warranty I may switch back to 5w20 just to be safe for the last oil change.
I've been using Wix on my truck lately because the FL-820S is always out of stock at Walmart. O'Reilly has the Motorcraft filters, but the Wix has been cheaper, and IMO about the same quality.
EDIT: Whatever you do, just make sure it has a SILICONE anti-drainback valve.
Oh damn... LOL. were you talking about the oil filter or air filter? Yes - either way, go MC or WIX on the filters, and you won't go wrong.
Hahaha yeh definitely will never run a k&n air filter. Its either wix or MC as far as that goes. What are your thoughts on Fram platinum oil filters? The guys over on Bobistheoilguy.com really speak highly of them.
That's what I get for just poking my head in to glance at the threads, lol.

I had a dark green Granada back in the day...it was my sole purposed pizza delivery rig.
