I can't see any difference either. This is merely a guess, but I know Ford has slowly been changing some of their vehicles (i.e., Ecoboost, Coyote) to NGK as the supplier. Maybe they've changed suppliers for 479's too?

Well, I found the source of the misfire. The #6 spark plug well was half full of liquid. (And it figures... this is one of the Motorcraft coils.) It doesn't smell or taste like antifreeze, though. I wonder if it's just a buildup of water over years of washing the engine compartment. When these coils were installed, there was no Dielectric grease spread at the opening like I would do. I'll get everything disassembled, put the old fuel injectors back in temporarily to fill the holes, and then clean up everything really well. In the meantime, I'll see if this moisture evaporates off of the paper towel that I used to soak it up. If it does, water. If it doesn't, crap.

Shop dog is supervising...

Thank you so much for all the help! This is one of four bolts holding the cdi to the block with isolaters so it won't see much stress so if it's not perfect it will be ok.

I guess it's about time to install the new injectors, coils, and O2's I've had stashed away. Thinking of leaving the plugs alone, though, as they have only (?) 40K on them. Thoughts?

If I do decide to change them, does anyone know the difference between SP-479 and SP-479X?
Thank you sir. It took me some time to finally jump on it since I haven't done this before. I'll update after I ruin it or fix it. Lol

Got a new gun today.

Hey White, could you print this?
This one looks injection molded.

Yes, it wouldn't be as smooth right off the printer. I've been reading about ways to "smooth" PLA though, so it could be close to the same surface.

I am waiting for this damn red paint to dry, but I did this one tonight. You can kind of see the texture that they come off as. However... this was in "standard" mode. Haven't tried "fine" yet.

Time to quit for the night before I get myself into a real pickle. One boot is stuck on the plug. Guess which one. (I'll give you a hint... It's #4.) I've already ripped a couple of pieces off the exposed portion trying to get it out. I've hit it with penetrating oil and shoved a scribe in and wiggled it around, but no joy. Going to let it set overnight and try again in the AM.

And after dealing with this, I think I will *not* be attempting the plugs.

I used these on my Toyota when one stuck. It worked sweet.

The trouble with those, White, is there's nothing for the ring portion to grab onto. The boot is now hollow, and the stuck portion is way down in the hole. I'm hoping that the penetrating oil will help break things loose by morning.

Oh, and it does look like it's antifreeze in that spark plug well, dammit. No other evidence of a leak anywhere, but I guess I'm pulling the intake. (Dammit again!)

A couple questions are:

1) Could AF only in this cylinder (and a very slight dampness in #5) be something other than the intake or gasket?

2) If it's only the gasket, is there any reason for me to consider replacing the intake with the aluminum one from my '99?
