I found the ambition to get back to work on the Mustang tonight.
Lots of oxidation, and obviously no clear coat.
I clayed it, then rubbed it by hand, I didn't want to trash my foam pads.

Then polished it and waxed it with the D/A.
Finally getting it where I can live with it.

That looks fantastic, Phil! I need to do my 89, and then finish Frankie. My shoulder is finally feeling like it's recovered a bit from the summer. Of course, laying down all day the last 3 days is probably helping that, LOL. It needs surgery, but I don't have a year to be without it.

Yeah, Brew... a shock collar, LOL....

Wolvee, a pic of the 3" B&D one inch lift blocks kit for the 150's. Blocks and U-bolts. It was 50 bucks when I did it, not sure what they are now. I think you were asking about it earlier, -

Ok I'm seeing a lot of hate on the 5.4 engine. Yes it had it's problems for sure. However I had 2 of these engines. One I got 276,000 out of it without any real issues. The second was a 1999 F-250. I got literally 500,000 out of it only replacing an alternator and water pump. The problem with that 5.4 is when Ford decided to put aluminum heads which lead to compression issues and the infamous "blown plug". The reason this engine had bad plug blowing issues is most mechanics (including ford ) would over torque the plugs weakening the aluminum threads. This was about the time of the torque transition started. The torque specs were around 11-15 foot pounds. People were torquing if torqued at all at 40-60 foot pounds. I still see these 5.4 on the road today. Remember this 5.4 is the 330ci that ford made for 50 years. This engine was to go to for school buses and large trucks. My 5.4 gave me 500,000 and 15 years of service and I used it in construction pulling big loads.

I'll admit, I prefer the 4.6 but I don't hate the 5.4 at all. But that stuff about 50 years old and in busses is completely inaccurate.

Right idea with most of it.

I think some guys don't realize how old this thread is when they pull up a chair, lol.
