Eh, it depends. It definitely shouldn't be the opening line, but sometimes it's a good way to cut to the chase and see if there's a deal to be made. What I hate is when someone starts dickering before even having a conversation or seeing the item.

Some craigslist douche emailed me "14k" when I was selling my Mustang.

That's it. That's the whole email.

25 dollar guy is now up to my 75 asking price because he wants me to deliver them.

Today I've had two guys tell me how broke they are and how bad they need tires. I don't think 75 is bad for 4 legal tires and wheels. They probably have 10 to 15K left on them. I'm not budging. I'll keep them otherwise.

I can't imagine taking my cars to anyone to do something that simple on my cars.
Having to go that and wait around. Just sitting, doing nothing, would make me crazy.
Also,All my vehicles are super easy to do a LOF. Especially the 97.

I understand, you are at a car repair place everyday to work. You are actually doing something productive while you truck is being done.
I would be bored as hell even with a phone or laptop to use.

Yes, salesmen hate me as I just can't sit while they go "talk to the manager" and all that other delay crap.
I have actually told them I can't sit, call me when they can figure it out.

I wouldn't budge either. GTFO. I sat on my Mustang tires for well over a year before they sold for the same reason. I told one guy, "I'll let them rot in the garage and pay a disposal fee before I sell them to you at that price."
