Thanks , your right and that's what happened.
Is this what you guys have as E85? I've never seen less than 87 on Alaskan Pumps. I've seen as high as 110 octane at the Shell by the airport before it closed down. We currently only have 87, 88 and 90 on our automotive pumps.
What we're told it, in this altitude, 85 octane is equivalent to 87 at sea level. We have 85,87,89 (at some stations), and 91 here.
I don't have anything that runs on E85, and it's super rare to find here.

@OhioLariat @COStruck do you guys have 85 octane in CO?

Wow, you are at 4200 sea level. I always thought that SLC was lower and just the area around was higher. Goes to show. Anchorage is 52' and 282' where I am. High altitudes to me are going over to where Mt Denali, Foraker etc. roads are when traveling north to Fairbanks. We go over 5000' going into Fairbanks then down to 450' in Fairbanks. Big area/valley where that town is.

Plenty of people do it, though.
I really haven't noticed any lag in the hills with either my Mustang or Red, but that could be that I just keep the throttle steady (no cc) and don't wind down the rpms in the hills. I like to run around 70 with both and have no problems. Of course, I'm only in the 5k foot area for about 20 miles when continuing the climb through the mountains into FBX.
I did notice that Mustang runs better in the mountains with the JLT cold air kit on it. I put back on the stock and the mpg went down. Figure that one out.
