Did you try it ? Do you think I'd have a problem down loading to a fresh 2nd SSD ? If not, perhaps I'll try it on the old AMD DT machine. Maybe I should clone first lol.

Microsoft is being very strange about the "supported" processors. Your PC has to be capable to run TPM 2.0 (trusted platform module). I think it's 7th generation and newer Intel's, and not sure on AMD.

It "looks" very similar. Might be buying a new (used) laptop today to try it out on, lol. It needs some work - but it's cheap.
8th and newer Intel Core if you are doing an upgrade. Earlier will work if you are doing a fresh install. It will let you know it is not supported but you can install anyway.
OK, I'm off a generation. I was installing 10 on a Gen 10 when it popped up. I installed onto a Gen 10 two weeks ago and I didn't see anything, however.
I thought I read in the release that Gen 7 was the first for what had TPM 2.0 capabilities.
If you look at the compatibility list there are 2 or 3 gen 7 CPUs that were put in HEDTs and weird stuff you will never see in the real world that are compatible. For all intents and purposes you're looking for gen 8 and newer. But with that being said, I installed on Gen 5 and 6 doing fresh installs and bypassing the not supported message.
