Thinking
White, I'm glad to hear your wife is doing better! That's great news!
I guy I know went all-out Milwaukee in his home wood-and-everything-else shop, and has most every tool you can think of with a bank of about a dozen chargers set up with batteries always at the ready. It's quite the setup. (What he has in his shop is probably worth as much as my house.)

If I was starting right now, I'd probably be going Milwaukee. I've got so much DeWalt stuff now, I'm all in. And it is really good stuff too... my ONLY complaint is the Jacobs chuck that came on my drill is a really PITA. I bought a new chuck for it, but haven't quite got around to swapping it out. My issue with my impact is due to my neighbor dropping it about 3 feet... and it hit HARD. Like Brew was saying, those bigger batteries make it hurt a little more when they drop, lol.
I like it the way I have it currently, plenty good enough for me. - Milwaukee corded drills/hammer drills and hole shooters, Porter cable sawzalls (corded) and DeWalt cordless stuff. Plus all the air tools, mostly IR. This stuff will last my life time. Not to mention all the crap I missed, have a lot of Makita corded stuff. Table saw is DeWalt. Have a collection, some oldy but goodies. Newer stuff is the DeWalt 20v stuff. They finished first in power ahead of Milwaukee in that category in the past. Now that Milwaukee has sort of caught up, you still get more for money with Dewalt.
I agree, more bang for your buck with the DeWalt cordless. I love Milwaukee drill bits, blades, etc. I bought a DeWalt grinder and DA sander recently, both corded. I'll probably end up with a DeWalt 20V palm sander soon too. My old Black & Decker has just about seen its last days. I've taken it apart and fixed it a couple times already. The brushes seem to suck in all the dust really easy. It's about 15 years old or more... so it's about due.

Yea I have those two smaller cases of Milwaukee bits, I think they were on sale at some point last year. Yea they're nice. Two cases came in one package from what I recall.
Usually purchase Huot drill bits, haven't needed to in awhile. M42 bits is all I will buy. Sawzall , - Greenlee, Lenox or Milwaukee. Whoever has the best deal. Irwin has some good stuff as well.
I bought some "lifetime warranty" M42 cobalt bits made by Drill Hog. Busted two of them on their first hole. I don't even think it's worth returning them for replacements.
