Soooo.... my friend at work just bought a 2014 F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost. He tossed me the keys, so I obliged. Damn thing has some *****. Holy crap, I want one bad!
I drove one NA and one with the ecoboost system. Night and day difference, but the stock 3.5na was quicker than a lot of old day so called performance cars. The turbo unit is more kick in the pants than my Torino I used as a drag car. The low end is unbelievable. I got lucky and drove a 2014 w 5.0 coyote and that is what I would buy. No 3.5eb, nothing else. The damn v8 has more power and seat feel than I could of ever imagined. It's like a big block that is fully built and just powers on. Great motor the Coyote.
You could always put in a crate Coyote with 450 hp in your Expy or F150. I haven't seen the actual engine on a stand, but I have been told that the 4.6/5.4 and the 5.0 C have the same bell housings. If this is correct, then I can see a few replacements for some guys down the road. lol
Little brother (LB lol) picked up a 17 Hemi last week. Ugly as hell, but I'd shine someones shoes for a week for an 8 speed with that kind of power lol. 395hp/450tq I think he said...but it's that 8 speed I'd like the most I think. Not a fan, like their diesels though. He leased 30% below the compatible Ford vehicle.

I would never buy a dodge, but those trucks move! I raced one in my coyote truck and it pretty much left me sitting still. He also had the 3.92 rear, mines a 3.73 and a 6sp. I can't wait to see how fords 10sp changes the trucks.
