Good morning all.
Slacking and livin.
As we were forecast to have a nice clear weekend (after several weeks of rain) I went to the cabin to look around and come up with a todo list.
Took my youngest spawn with.
Looks like y'all had a full hootenanny become a full melee.
Anybody gonna tell Magee that he needs to pull engine and trans apart and get the TC fully engaged?

Friday morn at work (bored as hell looking out the window on a great day) and called my 15 YO daughter and see when school was out and if she wanted to go to cabin. She say hell ya.
Grab new generator box, some firewood, grub and on way by noon (had remote school in truck going up road).
Beautiful but cold weekend. Walkabout around the mountain.
The generator box did cut down on the noise greatly. Turned it off at night.
Learned that if it is quite enough fire makes noise.
Sun went down, No moon till ~midnight, so damn many stars!

Not really sorry I missed the fun.

I wonder if I can get it started again?

Same one but your recollection is a bit off. I wanted to charge a battery pack from my truck as the generator was too loud.
Someone suggested building a generator box, so I did. It was much better.
Still ain't got the battery box.

VW rabbit diesel? Any of those still running?
my memory of those were that they produced more smoke than power.

I remember now. I built a box for noisy air compressor way back when. Insulated w/Polystyren and plenty of ventilation. Man did that make a big difference.

Lol, - My memories of the rabbit diesel are a bit different. Dated a girl in high school with one. The parking brake was always in the way. Could never run that thing out of fuel, it was an energizer bunny for sure. Needed a shoe horn to get in and out, - but it would go around the world on a tank of fuel.

It didn't smoke, I might be dating myself, but it was kind of new from what I recall lol.

Built box from plywood, Rockwool insulation, Hinged roof with overhang and aluminum panel on top.
painted it olive drab. I left it up there and hope no one steals it.

Generator I have seems ok at home, noisy at cabin.

Nice, good price too, - much cheaper than a Honda !

Is it heavy? Yea, may need to lock it up somehow. Low lifes or the coon's might make off with it.

BTW, -Sounds like a nice enclosure.....well thought out. I bet that Rockwool keeps it real quiet. That's good stuff for sound proofing. I may be using that in the near future.

This is the newer version of mine. I swear mine is a 4500/3500 machine. The motor is a Honda clone. It runs really well.
