Thinking
WOW, Ak you worked for Cal Worthington? Did you ever meet his dog spot? I remember those commercials as a kid here in Western Washington. Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal. Sort of having a childhood flashback here. I think they ran him out of the state or some shady business practices or something.

I only worked for Cal doing evening in parts. I did more with John Stepp's Ford. Both are gone now and we have Kendell. Lithia is big here too. Both companies own most of the local in town dealerships. We have a local Mopar/Jeep dealer, Anchorage Chrysler Center (Rod Udd) and a locally owned full line \GM dealer, AK Sales and Service. Most of the others are the two outside branded companies. I spent 5 1/2 years with AK Sales in parts/warranty/service/management. It's nothing like it used to be. They sold to one of the employees and he's done okay, but I couldn't buy from them if I had to. Trying to be like the big boys and it's hurt their local sales totals.
Cal owned the Ford dealership in Anchorage for 41 years, from 76 thru 17. The boys sold off the Worthington dealerships here and got out. A lot of that money went up the boys noses.
For the longest time, everyone in Anchorage thought that the jingle he used said......"*****cow, *****cow, *****cow" instead of go see cal. LOLOLOL

Remember the song "Dirty Water" by the Standells. It was band in some places because of the line...."lovers, muggers and thieves" sounded like something dirtier. LOL A few other songs come to mind that could be interpreted differently and made dirty very easy. I remember the Bangels Walk like an Egyptian being changed in a local bar to another description. It was funny hearing a woman singing about an erection. lol
