Btw fingers crossed... I was low on fluid... so i topped it off. Won't know if that has helped till I drive it some more. Hopefully it does help and come spring time I will do a pan drop and new filter.

I have a picture of me standing in the back of my Grandpa's brand new 78 when I was 3 years old. He had the F350 with a 460, XLT Ranger. It was a towing machine..... he used to pull 4 horses from SLC to Evanston Wyoming all the time. He was a horse racer, and owned many, many Thoroughbreds over the years.

Unless you have a leak, I'd check the xfer case fluid level. Pull the top plug, but be ready for fluid to come out. Mine gushed. I don't think the xfer case likes Mercon V. (AK/anyone?)

Correct, Mercon V is no good for the t-case.

Have you guys seen this? Ford might bring back the Courier.

Well it's been low on me in the past... oh about 3yrs ago iirc (last time I had an issue lol) for some reason I've just not been good on checking the trans fluid on this truck lol.

So if I pull the transfer case plug and it gushes out... I suppose I need to drain that and refill it; AFTER I fix the leak? And if nothing gushes out, then it's leaking somewhere else and slow enough for me to never see it.
I've (knock on wood) yet to have a problem with my 4x4

I drained and refilled mine, and it's been fine ever since. "F150 heal thyself!"

(Maybe I shouldn't have said that.)

If you get a lot when you pull the top plug, yes.... probably a leak. Don't sweat it if you get 1/2 cup or so. That is somewhat normal.... I've seen them do that, and I would assume maybe it was filled on an angle.
