EDIT: Forgot about the injector question. When I've done an intake, I was replacing the intake all together.... but I want to say that no, the injectors do not need to be removed to remove the lower intake. All I think I did was disconnect the fuel line. If you do need to remove the injectors, I recommend using Vaseline to install the o-ring and also again to help seat the injector. Vaseline works like magic for that.

BTW, what coils did you end up with?
well I was all about the Motorcraft but you guys have never been wrong so I figured I’d save about $8 a piece and I got the Denso’s.

Ok, since I’m waiting on the camera I’d figure I’d poke around a tad and see what I could see. I took the “5.4 Triton” plastic b Co over off and the air intake assembly. Then I really got my face in there good (that’s what she said hehe) and I do see the heater core hose (driver side) dripping. And looking below it the one coil and surround bits are indeed wet.

the question is has it been dripping enough (or maybe cooking out harder when it’s running) to make that little puddle in the valley. The puddle is definitely in the right spot.....

so I’m being cautiously optimistic. So my question is hire can I trouble shoot from here? Can I start the truck and let it run with the air intake assembly off so I can get in there good and watch it?

I’d there another truck to mimic operating pressure to see if that’s the true problem?

if the cylinder #4 spark plug well is full of coolant, or any other, that could be your missing problem too

I don't suggest running it without the assembly. You'll get lean codes, etc... and unfiltered air. You can indeed mimic pressure in the system. Most Autozones rent a tool that you can use to generate pressure at the radiator (tank on these trucks) cap. That should get you down the right road. I think it is 15 or 16 psi you need.

Once again, I can’t thank you enough. It seems like you’re in every thread dolling out excellent advice. You should win some sort of forum award lol.

I’ll report back (hopefully) tomorrow finding’s.

Holy cow... hopefully they don't want this much to rent the kit.

Thank you for your kind comments. Much appreciated!

Ok, well I got the kit. It’s “free”. After you give Oreilys $150 lol. You get it all back once you return it which I’m about to do because......drumroll..... doesn’t work. The kit comes with three adapters, non of which fit. I called and the guy said I shouldn’t need an adapter with booking right up to the overflow tank. No way. No way it’s going on.

so i looked online and sure enough there is an adapter. So I’m returning this now and I just bought a kit from amazon. Not the best but not the cheap $34 kit.

in the meantime I used the camera to look at the houses going through the firewall to the heater core. Sure enough the driver side hose has coolant leaking out of it.

here is a vid:
