You can usually find a set on Ebay for under a 100 dollars for all 8 as remans/cleaned.

Before you go replacing all injectors. See if any local shop has an injector cleaning machine. No use replacing them if they are just clogged up with junk

Well, so far all of the injectors seem fine, including the one that the plug looked really lean. Think I have to replace it anyway now lol. Hey, only breaking one out if all of them isn’t bad, right?

Im guessing this is no good now?

That's just a pintle cap. You can get a pintle cap kit at O'Reilly (only place I've ever found them) that also gives you 2 new o-rings. Borg Warner is who makes the kits (BWD).

But... just so you know, the pintle cap is not where it plugs. More often than not, you won't be able to see the clog. Sometimes you can see it on the screen on the top, but to properly clean them, sonic cleaning it what you want.

Ok, sitrep.

I bought a remaned Ford injector. I’m replacing the plugs and coils and that one plug looked really lean so I might as well take that one injector out of the equation.

back to my main problem. I’m just a little confused. The $80 Ford hose has a metal piece on the end where the quick connect goes.

the $12 gates house does not have that. It appears to be plain. So I also have a quick connect in my cart with the gates hose. My question is do I need a hose clamp too? I would assume so, yes? Is that what the metal on the Ford is taking the place of?

One last thing. The video I posted up there thread clearly shows the leak originating from this hose. How can I be sure it’s the hose and quick connect vs the presses in connection (coming from the firewall) isn’t the problem? Or I do I just find out when I instal the new hose?

Thanks again!

The Motorcraft hose comes with the connector AND the restrictor. That hose from Continental will require you to extract the restrictor, and also buy a connector. The restrictor is not the funnest thing to insert into the pipe.

I'm late to this thread but as far as the heater hose with the restrictor is concerned I used Dayco 87793 from rock auto when I did my heater core. It has the o rings and restrictor in it and it is 20 bucks. Remove old, install new. I lubed the new O rings with some clean coolant to ease it on.
