Well, the boss is shutting me down for the day but I found something interesting. I’ve got the two rear passenger side coils out. The rear mist one was soaked in coolant. I would have bet this one was bad, and hey, maybe it is but I broke out the multimeter and it’s reading around 5.4 ohms, so is the other one I pulled.

that’s what they are suppose to read so I’m wondering if the coolant was causing a problem and if it dries up they would have been fine? 🤷🏼‍♂️

they are still all getting changed. The guy who owned it before me definitely didn’t use Motorcraft coils and I’ll bet plugs too. So at least putting new MC/Denso stuff in makes me feel better.

note I just have to get the heater core hose.

The condition of the first plug I pulled. What do you guys think?

edit: second plug pulled. This is passenger side all the way back at the firewall. That’s a lot of oil. That can’t be good, right? It’s just weird. This thing runs like a brand new vehicle. Well, before the misfire. But even when it’s not misfiring it still runs like new.

Unfortunately have no idea. The OBD never said I even had a misfire.

I used the camera to look at the cylinder where the plug with the oil cane out of. The top of the piston looks oil free. So maybe I’m ok?

EDIT. upon further inspection it’s never seize. They must have put 8 ounces on this when they put it in *facepalm on the positive side the plugs are coming out splendidly lol.

Just out of curiosity, why is the Motorcraft hose $83 and the others aroujd $11? And should I buy the special tool to remove these type of connections?

Yeah... Those plugs appear to have been fine tips with the tip melted. If all of them are like that, you need look at what's causing you to be so lean.

Refresh my memory, did you have any codes at all?

Negative. No pending or stored codes. Is there a way I can test the injectors myself? Will one of those “injector cleaner” additives do anything besides lighten my wallet?

ouch. Just looked at MC injectors. $560 plus tax and shipping doesn’t sound like fun. Lol

EDIT: I just checked the ohms for all of the injectors on that bank. All read 14.6.

Yeah. I was kinda think though that if one is wearing out/at end of life wouldn’t the other 7 be close too?

Or am I off in that assumption. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll gladly only replace the faulty ones if that’s the proper thing to do.
