you need to get a scan tool that can read mode 6 data. test drive it, get it to stutter and see if you have misfire counts

I did all of that. 8 brand new Motorcraft plugs. Coils all tested fine on the multimeter but I still replaced two on the passenger side under the heater hose because they got some coolant on them.

all I know now (which isn’t much lol) is it’s absolutely perfect when I take it out of overdrive. Put it in overdrive, shudder.

I googled first and it seems like it could be my torque converter. My tranny has be maintained but who knows, right?

I was looking at a product called “Lube Guard Instant shudder fix”. Since I don’t know for sure it’s the TQ I haven’t ordered it but have you cus ever heard of it? Any good? Seems to get lots of love on YouTube and in other reviews.

oh, nothing misfire related is turning up in the obd reader.

I got one just for this issue and used it before I did all of this (hose, plugs, coils). It never told me anything then and it’s the same now. Well, I take that back. It partially did. In mode six it said some stuff which I posted pics of farther up the thread. I’m assuming it was from the coolant pooling in the plug hole.

but it never has had an actual code.

Ok. Update. I haven't added the shudder fix because the day it got delivered I drove the truck about five miles to warm it up first. It ran perfectly. Perfectly.

then yesterday I drove it two hours. One hour each way and it dove perfectly once again.

this morning I get in it, start it up, pull out and the misfire is back. This time taking it out of OD did not fix it.

It got a LOT better after about 15 minutes but still occurred a little.

So....yeah lol.

Fixed. Finally kicked a code. Cylinder number 2. Replaced the coil and it runs like a top.

Thanks again everyone
