Headlight switch question.

I don't think there is any module there carcrazy I think you may have a bad switch looking at my truck I have the autolamp sensor plugged into the harness mounted to the bottom of the dash panel or "surfboard" fuse #29 under the dash is a 5 amp fuse and is the only fuse that controls the autolamp function and the switch which looks to be right on your truck but what im guessing is that the PO had the same issue and just decided to remove it and maybe broke the old panel. I would try to grab a headlight switch look at my three pictures I posted page one that jumper wire is not connected to anything

Apparently the Auto lamp module and light sensor are one unit. So you have everything. Either you have a bad head light switch or a bad sensor. Sorry about that I had to dig thru the ford factory manual to find it. Upon further investigation that plug with the jumper looks to be for the DRL module.

Trucks with auto climate control and auto lamps have to different sensors in the surfboard. The one for auto lamps is actually under the slits under the surfboard. The one that protrudes is for the auto climate control. Ford hadn't quite gotten smart enough to put both in the same sensor as they did in 04. The Navigator/Expeditions used it first in 03...
I have that exact setup on mine and the auto lights work fine. That is a plug for the DRL module from what I have read.
As for the adjuster screw, I just went and messed with mine since I always want the lights on before they turn on. I have them now set at 1/4 turn CCW from all the way CW, will see how that does (it was about 2/3 CCW from full CW).

Did not know that. Why the heck does the Auto climate have a photoelectric cell?

Okay I read what you'll all posted (thankyou) i checked fuse 29 its good, I'm leaning toward my headlight switch being bad because it was cracked when i purchased the truck, i think PO did try and remove it. For what reason is unknown. In the (autolamp) position there is power to the harness where the sensor plugs in. In the off ( O ) position there is no power to the sensor So that part is working properly, the sensor itself works, if in the autolamp position i can cover it and the lights will come on, uncover they go off, the problem is then going back to the off ( O ) position causes the lights to stay on, go back to autolamp uncovered, they're off.
