I thought all F150's had black switches? Never seen a color matched one.
Your switch is for auto headlights, but you don't have the sensor, so no auto lights.
This is the sensor (the round black thing, not sure what the slits are for, maybe the auto climate control?):

Seems someone had tried to make it work but they never could, so it is more than just the switch and plugging in a sensor (there is an open plug for the sensor, so maybe a GEM issue?).

Trucks with auto climate control and auto lamps have to different sensors in the surfboard. The one for auto lamps is actually under the slits under the surfboard. The one that protrudes is for the auto climate control. Ford hadn't quite gotten smart enough to put both in the same sensor as they did in 04. The Navigator/Expeditions used it first in 03.

The color matched switch were used in expeditions and Navigators. I'm actually trying to find one for my 97. But I only have one year model to work with. You guy atleast have 3.

Sweet it should. Thats how I got mine to work in the 97. I just changed out the headlight switch for one with auto lamps and added the sensor. You can use a black sweater over the sensor to trick to check them during the day.

Yeah the XLt/Lariat's share the same chassis harness''s. Its just a matter of having all the parts.

okay question, wired it all up, tried the auto with a black rag over it works, but it also worked in every other setting which is odd.. Removed the rag still on, i just unplugged the battery and gonna let it sit and see if it needed to be reset. Before the auto didn't do anything so i know its doing something
