My headlight switch question is this

1- my auto headlights do not work and i have never found out why.

2- is this part supposed to be black? I think it might be a replacement that the OP put in my truck that had the option for auto lights. Its also cracked so I'm going to replace it anyway,

3- I have found a gray OEM replacement on eBay everything looks the same as far as harnesses go, but the 2 letters on the stickers are different which is a concern.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Here's a mine as it is right now (also you'll notice a white circle with an x through it? Could this be a part that was pulled? Thanks!!

And this is the link to the replacement I'm looking at http://www.ebay.com/itm/141598926830...S:1123&vxp=mtr hoping you guys can shed some light on this for me. Thanks i forgot to add that the face is black.

Does your truck have the small vent opening in the surf board on the dash? If it does just pop it off to make sure the sensor is there. I have seen some that do not have the sensor but the correct surf board for autolamps. If it does I will get you the correct part number you will need for your truck. My 03 has auto lamps but dont recall if autolamps is to the left.

Edit: Here is the newest revision from Ford. YL3Z-11654-DAD. The switch you are looking at seems to be the right one. But the part numbers are faded on the label and it is extremely hard to decipher. Hope that was off some help.

gonna check right now, thanks. No sensor opening which would explain why it doesn't work. I'm begining to think it was a replacement, and should be OEM gray.

overdrive works hahah. This is weird.. I really think it was a junkyard pull out that had the auto lamp option.

I would pop the surfboard off and see if you actually have the sensor or harness in there. I added the autolamp function to my 97 lariat. I just had to add the sensor, and the headlamp switch.
