I've had piston slap/rod knock that's loud upon start but dies down when warm but still audible since 150,000 I've got 204,000 on it now and runs fine as I can tell, I'd run it till it breaks

Couple questions for all you engine builders! How much mpg drop with 42lbs injectors, supercharged with stage 3 cams and 9lbs pulley? How do you adjust how much boost you make? Just the pulley on the blower? Also how much boost can I do with being safe? Engine is rebuilt with forged Manley h beam rods and Pistons. Heads are rebuilt PI. I have a Kenne bell 2.2 twinscrew supercharger kit. Also how much horse am I looking at? Again I have a Kenne bell 2.2 twinscrew supercharger, 42lbs injectors, PI rebuilt heads with stage 2 or 3 cams, performance fuel pump, electric fans, 75mm bbk throttle body, 6 or 9lbs pulley, will be dyno tuned, 5.4 bored .20 over with Manley h beam rods and Pistons

Building a motor like that why would you worry about mpg..it'll drop greatly..You'll run out of fuel with 42lb injectors at around 475.

It always depends on the tune and where your foot's at. In vacuum, even a 700hp truck can get stock mpg.

You can got from 17mpg to 3mpg in the time it takes to put your foot to the floor.

If you drive like a kid and heavy on the gas, you better sure have the wallet of an adult.

I always reside in the safe side at 80% duty cycle 400-450rwhp..if you have a good tuner and are willing to push limits yes you can get more out them..never been my style. To each his own though.

yeah I'd still drive it responsibly, I was just think that with a stage 2 or 3 cam it would kill fuel mileage even by idle, I'm trying to learn about these engines so sorry for all the questions haha
