Looks like my engine build may come sooner rather than later. I remote started my truck today while I was walking up on it on the passenger side where the exhaust exit is and when it started it smelled like burning oil and a thin white blueish cloud came out of the tail pipe. I'm hoping it's just my PCV sucking oil up into the intake and nothing major

This might not be related but how do you all break in new engines? ( it's a 3.5 Ecoboost if the turbos matter ) anyway it's a 2016 Explorer Platinum.

That would be a little more expensive lol. I would love to rebuild it but you bank account won't. Being in college and working 2 part time jobs sucks haha. I guess I could get a loan and build the engine and trans will I'm at it. I have noticed that it idles a little rough for about the first 30 seconds after it starts then it clears up some. Almost idles like it would if a COP where bad. I'm gonna pull the intake soon so I can do the plugs and give it a tune up so part of me is hoping to see a bunch of oil in the intake so I know it's not rings. I'll do a compression test will I'm in there

I know for a fact (I've seen it) that my throttle body (and I'm sure past that) has a dried film of oil on it. I have yet to clean it either lmao.

The modular motors can do that if you let them sit idling for a while, then shut it off. The next cold start produces a puff-o-smoke, just like a Vortec Tree-Fiddy. Even new they did it.
