Made some negative progress today. Ordered a set or cams and adjustable gears.

I don't think I'm ever gonna get this together.

Works flawlessly. Just a factory rebuild. Has the newest updates along with a Factory Tech valvebody and accumulator.. Little firmer than stock but feels better than when new.. Took the trans cooler off the 97 and put it on the 03. The 97 is getting a 6.0 PSD cooler.

Haha I think 20lbs of boost would over come most cam issues, however, I have too much invested for it to be something I 90% built the way I wanted.

I have had alot of fun working, researching, gather parts, and planning. To see it run is going to be a dream come true. I just want everything exactly customized to fit my needs and (desires lol).

The XE262AH's should give me what I am looking for. Great low end torque, noticable idle, and rev to around 5800

262's will fall of before 5800... I have something similar duration wise for lower end and midrange and they peter out right around 5200..

Depends on which 262's you have. Due to the specs some are 5200, 5400, and 5800.

I won't be revving that high Anyhows, it will practically be the stock rev range with better torque down low and good mid range.

The most informative book I have encountered for our platform. A plethora of high performance mods; compares nearly all comp cams, NA and charged. Enginge dyno readings and 14234123531 of more interesting things. I picked it up on amazon for 17 bucks.

I have custom spec'd split duration/split lift cams. They were spec'd out by SHM many moons ago to go with NPI 7cc dish pistons and PI heads that had been milled .005". I think once they get hit with boost and e85 the will liven up some.. Current configuration it makes peak torq @2600 and holds it out to around 4400.. Peak hp comes right in before the shift point which is 4950.

My whole goal originally was a pump gas friendly engine that would make pulling easier, everything then once geared around a pully a 8k trailer on a daily basis.. I wanted tq. Now the truck doesnt see a trailer.. SO thing a getting moved more oriented towards performance.. Hopefully these SCAT OE replacement rods will handle the abuse... After the first of the year its going to be getting a ported eaton. Gonna start small and work my way up.. Looking for 425-450hp and 550+ tq on low boost.
