I have a nasty squeak, you'd think by looking at the picture you'd thought this was the culprit..nope. I know it's not the belt but it's hard to pinpoint the right bearing. It's not the belt, it's a bearing squeak not a squeal. I may change the little idler next. So at least she got a new part? Yes charliedyal it's Motorcraft

fordmotorsport my 98 gtp gas saver has developed an intermittent squeak. I'm gonna go ahead and do the tensioner, belts, water pump & both idlers while I'm in there. Plus have to do the SC coupler & oil. At 155k might as well. Need this thing to last for at least another year or more.

fordmotorsport Did you ever replace the WP? Also check the alt bearings by free spinning the alt with no belt.

good call. The fan wiggles just a little, so I'm hoping it's not the pump but I'll check it tomorrow. I never did replace the wp. If that's the problem..it looks like a pita.

It really doesn't get any cheaper than that. I believe ford racing sells universal harnesses now for swaps
