Yeah I used the H1's with the kit.

The results are definitely stunning. The PnP kits would cower at the performance of these. Yes, it was a huge pain but now that it's done I'm absolutely satisfied, and glad I did it. Honestly, I will most likely do this for any vehicle I own in the future, it's that much better. I will post pics of it tonight, I still have to tweak the aim a little and thats it.

Awesome, I want to see pics! I did a retrofit on my old Nissan Frontier and it was exactly what you descibed - you can't live without the performance of real projector HID.

What were you able to salvage from your old PnP kit; bulb or harness? I know ballast for sure. I think I am going to do this when I take some vacation time from work.

With the F-150's anyway you can keep the ballasts, relay kit...etc Almost everything except the bulbs. the projectors use H1 bulbs where-as the OEM HL uses H13 bulbs. But the projector comes with a H13 "adapter" and that makes everything SO MUCH EASIER! Instead of making sure you're level, fighting with the cutoff, blah blah... The new projector is in just as level as a bulb would be. It was a PITA getting the HL's apart, the mounting and resealing was the easiest part. pix:

And finally the best part: The cut off - (will take night time pix tonight)

Don't mind the dirty shop door... I have since adjusted the cutoff, they are perfectly level and straight now. Simple as adjusting it with bulbs in it, same bolt.

Since it was the first retro I have done, it took me about 5-1/2 hours from start to finish. I strapped and clamped the HL's overnight to reseal and then reinstalled the next morning. But, I will be doing another set this week with the same projectors, selling this first set (if anyone is interested ($350))

I will take more pics on that one.

Because I like doing this, and you guys would like them? IDK why really... Why not?

I am selling my OEM set that I have already done, and if anyone else wants some just let me know. I also am doing a set of 2008 F250 HL's, a 2006 Tiburon, and 2011 F250 so far. Once they are done...

hehe the addiction has caught on. I told you its a lot easier than most think, and the Mini H1 pnp adapters are awesome. Just did a set into my fogs, going to do another 2008 F150, a 2005 F150, and maybe a 2008 Escape in the near future.

I will never own another vehicle without it. Once you drive behind top quality projectors, you're hooked.
