Good to hear you got the hotspot figured out. That should ensure max distance and more accurate aim down the road on your high beam more than anything.

I'll post pictures of my quad retro here shortly, the fog lights are sealed and drying. Output from 4 bixenon projectors is jaw-dropping.

There are no real shortcuts to take. I mean I turned the bulb (already in place and secured) by about 1 degree inside of the projector. There is a minute amount of play, and it can't occur unintentionally (ie. bouncy road). That adjusts your "hot spot" by a little to the left or right. the hotspot is right at the "step" on the cutoff line where the most color is seen. Each projector has a "step" that's where the light goes up in the middle. It's a pretty straight forward deal.

In my write up on Friday I will explain the entire process from start to finish, show everything you may question, and hopefully make it easier to understand. In reality, it's as easy as:

1: take off the lenses (not easy at all, but necessary. I HIGHLY recommend using AFTERMARKET housings as the adhesive isn't as strong)
2: install projector
3: aim
4: reseal
5: final adjust/aim
EDIT* 5.5: hope it doesn't fog up.

* If it fogs up, make sure there is a good seal on the back of the housing where the bulb goes in. If it fogs up, take a "DO NOT EAT" packet out of a beef jerky package (purse, shoebox, etc...) poke a SMALL hole in the package so you can run floss or fish line through so you can retrieve it later.

Also, don't use silicone. Use butyl or an RVT sealant, much better for resealing the lights and use it liberally.

I used Black Silicon sealant... It comes in a caulking tube and takes 1-2 hours to initially set up (so you have some room for error) and I used Black RVT sealant around the edges to "doll it up" after it sealed. Silicon has a bad tendency to rip/tear if rubbed (like rubber cement) but the Black sealant wont go anywhere.

I'll be doing the vehicles this weekend, and will do an EXTRA set of F-150 HL's if anyone wants them?
Asking $250 for the set once complete, so all you will have to do is plug them into your existing ballasts.

They are already done. The pics are from my original post. I have since put in some "harley style" HL's with the projectors. I just didn't want the chrome ones.

StuckZipper, now that you got the hang of the "bolt-on" retro-fit with the Mini, maybe sell some of your projects and tackle a full-on cutting retro-fit to fit one of the larger, better performing D2S projectors like the FXR or TL. A lot more work, but a lot better performance too.

IDK about that man, these things were all but identical in beam width and cutoff perfection when I looked at them... Is there really a lot of room to improve on these anyway?

Yes and no. From a standpoint of stock vs HID, not much. But comparing projectors to each other, yes definitely. The larger projectors can use higher quality D2S OEM bulbs and are large enough to run boost (50w) without heat damage. Bumping it to 50w gains you an extra 1200 lumens per bulb. Wider output, more colorful cutoff, and a far superior high beam as well.

But the MiniH1 retrofit is the bomb for an easy installation/amazing performance ratio. For 99% of people, this is way more than enough light.
