I just changed the vct a few months ago, so should be still good. Locking out the phaser does what, as I have watch video on that and will do it for sure. I also heard to watch what brand phaser to put in as some don't last very long. So what actually goes wrong with the phaser to need to change. I just don't know what to look for. Thx

Springs break inside them an Livernois just locks them in full position by replacing the springs with hard steel wedge like pieces. Being an old motor with their tune gives it new life. Plus the oil pressure means nothing to the phasors then thus the rest of the motor has a better chance at lubrication. The tune will kick *** help with the gas mileage and performance. Most reliable way to fix your engine at home in your shop. You can even add a blower with it.

I have "VIVID" memory laying underneath and hanging over front with hood latch gouging a hole in my gut for a couple of hours with a 'box end' turning that fx%#($ing bolt 1/16 turn at a time till it's two full inches worth of damn threads screwed out of the block on that 'third' power steering pump bolt out!!!! No, I don't have any suggestions - other than beg, borrow, or steal a special pulley puller ant get the power steering pump pulley off/out of the way. But it can be done W/O. Good Luck

I think U see why many choose the Livernoise set up. You won't see a broken guide again or clacking phasors. Easy to understand wanting to have the stock VCT for its power but lacks dependability now.
