I feel like SYNC updates should be free at the dealership, that way if the update bricks the system then they have to figure out how to fix it and are on the hook for it. This is better than me footing the bill for an error on the part of the manufacturer.
The issue with 4.4 is known. My support team is collecting data and working to get it corrected. If you haven't done so already, please send your VIN in a private message, so I can get the concern escalated.

I'm also encountering this known issue on a 2010 Basic Gen1 sync... the autoinstall file references a file that doesn't exist (SyncMyRide\E1BT-14D546-HC.cab). I've sent my info via PM...

Shaay,
I'm facing the same issue here as well with a 2013 F150 with basic system and SYNC with MyFord (i.e.: no touchscreen). I'll drop you a PM with my VIN as well.
I understand your frustrations and appreciate the patience. Just want to let you know that the issue is still ongoing, and there isn't an ETA at this time. If you send me your VIN in a PM, I'll submit your info to be contacted once we have more details.

Decided to edit my install.lst file. I removed all the "comments" and the two extraneous "[Windows Mobile For Automotive 5.8]" lines making it only look like this:
Now I've never done any development in the Windows Embedded Automotive OS so I don't know how crucial end of lines are in text files, but for consistency I only changed the autoinstall.lst files EOL style to UNIX which now matches the install.lst files structure.
Next I tried to update and it seemed like it was going to work because several minutes went by, but then I was met with the dreaded "File not found" voice-over from Sync. I'm guessing it was searching for the compatible file.
I did note that my previous version, and using the Sync Version Checker to verify, had my previous update file ending with an "-AC" suffix, to which I couldn't find in the new update.
A bit closer or hopefully helpful.
Edit: The file from Ford that was selected for me: FJ5T-14D544-AB.zip

Reason: Missing version that was downloaded
On my previous post I stated that I didn't have any success because the Sync Voice-Over alerted to me that it failed. I got in my truck this morning realized that my phone wasn't connecting and decided to check the software version. To my surprise when I checked the software version it updated!
It's strange that it reported that it could not find the update file, but it actually updated.
I bought my 2010 F150 just last month, and the Sync has never been updated. It's still running v3.1. While we're waiting, is there any way I can access the last update before 4.4?
