Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?

You mean maybe your F150 is a special snowflake. I'm glad yours is working well but we all don't need to hear it three times lol. Kind of rubbing it in everyone's face don't you think? The FoMoCo Sync Team pulled the file from the site so you can't even download it anymore. I think that says everything.

I have a 2013 XLT with the smaller screen, non navigation system and I've never done any updates. It's frustrating having to say "Bluetooth audio" every time I start the truck but I've been afraid to update. Has anyone had any better luck with the update on the lower end unit?

I'm not rubbing it in, just trying to help figure this all out.

FWIW I don't have the version that was later pulled from the site. Mine is whatever you can get now that's "current" but wasn't recalled.

If you haven't done any updates, go ahead and give it a try.

Mine is the standard Sync system with the small screen... If I were you I would wait until Ford releases the next update and you can see how it goes.. I wish I would have left the programming in my 2011 alone because it was immensely more usable back then... And unfortunately for everyone you can't revert to a previous installation of Sync.

The Bluetooth audio must be the default in my 2010 f150 with Gen1-V3.1 because it always go to my iPhone6 and tries to play music. Which I hate! I do not have any music on my iPhone. I play all my music from an iPod connected to the front USB port. But every time I start the truck it goes to the iPhone and tries to play music that isn't there. I have to manually change it to the USB. It seems to have an obsession with my iPhone. Sometimes right in the middle of a song it will drop the USB, with a message that the USB is unplugged or not supported, and reconnect to the iPhone. Then I have to tell it to sync with the USB again.

So my truck lost all ability to hear the mic again, can't connect to Bluetooth because it's not active. Last time this happened I ended up at the dealer since a fuse pull, etc wouldn't clear it up. This is getting absolutely ridiculous... I'm so fed up with my Sync system right now.

Me too! I've had it with the Sync! I've been fighting this POS since I bought the truck. Now, after trying to install 4.4 and having to do a reset, it refuses to connect to my iPod. Keeps telling me it's unplugged (it's not), or it's an unsupported device (also not).
Tomorrow I'm ordering a Jensen VX7022 from Crutchfield and installing it. Then I'm going to throw the POS Sync as far as I can throw it!!

Unfortunately for me I need the OEM radio as I'm running an iPad float mount.
