Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?
So my truck lost all ability to hear the mic again, can't connect to Bluetooth because it's not active. Last time this happened I ended up at the dealer since a fuse pull, etc wouldn't clear it up. This is getting absolutely ridiculous... I'm so fed up with my Sync system right now.

Me too! I've had it with the Sync! I've been fighting this POS since I bought the truck. Now, after trying to install 4.4 and having to do a reset, it refuses to connect to my iPod. Keeps telling me it's unplugged (it's not), or it's an unsupported device (also not).
Tomorrow I'm ordering a Jensen VX7022 from Crutchfield and installing it. Then I'm going to throw the POS Sync as far as I can throw it!!

My mic stopped working, Bluetooth wouldn't load after a failed update. While updating my system told me to re-insert the USB even though the USB wasn't touched. After an hour of letting it sit without any change I reluctantly reinserted the USB and it finally said installation complete. Although it was pretty much corrupted so the dealer 'rebooted' the system and installed Sync 4.4 for me. Yay!
If it's not replicating it consistently, my advice is to just wait until Sync Version 4.6. If the mic cuts out sometimes than pulling the Sync Fuse (#2 - 15A Fuse) should help fix it for some time. This is what my system did prior to trying to update to Sync Version 4.4 and see below ..

Not sure how long ago that was. But; Last week the Dealer reloaded 4.4 for me also. Tested everything out reporting it was really messed up but now it works. Unfortunately it's NOT fixed. "I guess" 4.6 is our only hope.
I don't blame the Dealer. They did the 4.4 reload while they did the LimSlip clutches. They also cut my warped rotors twice and have done my Slip Yoke at least 6 times. They didn't make my truck.
Why can't Ford just take a copy of 3.1 and mark it 4.5 so we can at least have a working system until 4.6 ? ? ? ?
I have a 2012 FX4 with the Sony Sync system, mine also reverts to Line in every time. I am running version 4.14 which is the original version from 2012. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago. When I go to the syncmyride site it says that there is a new version available, but when I click the link it goes right back to the page showing a new version is available. So "according to Ford" I am stuck with the old version until 4.6 comes out, that could be a long time, and 4.5 is not available on the site. I really wish the previous owner was a little more tech savvy!!
Does anyone still have the 4.5 update file????

Well I have the same problem with the input reverting back to Line in everytime. I have a friend that has a 2012 and he said the last update fixed the problem for him, I figured it was worth a try, can't get any worse. Do you have it?
The problem with the file is that they are generated for each specific VIN number. So even if I gave you my file, you wouldn't be able to use it. I'm assuming it's just an XML file edit that needs to be done, but I don't know.
