That looks great. I also use a magnet but under the steering wheel next to my right knee. I place in the console if not carrying on me as I don't want to leave it open in view when parked.
However when I'm driving I leave in the mount as I can grab it without looking or opening my console lid which could be seconds wasted.

PS. Use some of that massive change bag in your console to buy you a clip and some ammo, it will really complete your pistol... hahaha J/K friend

I put a bio-metric safe behind the rear seat for those rare times that I have to leave it in the truck, otherwise I keep it on my person. If you are in a wreck or drastic situation it is too easy for the pistol to go flying somewhere or for you to jump out of the truck without it. BTW pistols take magazines, not clips, clips go in your hair or on chip bags and I am not a gang banger.

You're right, it is magazine, I think I have heard my children playing too much Grand Theft Auto...

I also see your point about flying objects but for me, I prefer to have it more accessible and risk the wreck scenario.
As far as "drastic" situations I guarantee I don't jump out of my truck without grabbing my duece duece... uh wait, my pistol.... you good?
I would grab it intuitively before I touch my phone or keys or anything else...

Thanks for the advice on the change bag. I’m such a good shot though that I only need one round. Do you have info on your magnetic mount?

You could always go with this option. I you feel like you need some extra firepower, easily substitute the 9mm for a 10mm \

Regarding magnets, Ronin Factory has some very strong mounting magnets. They're the same outfit that makes the replacement oil drain plugs.

If you don't understand the pic...that would be a 9mm, 2 clips and a box of shells.

I mount my firearm on my person, where it belongs. All of these console mounting options lack any sort of security... which is how so damn many nice firearms end up on the street.

For long drives, it's awfully nice to take the pistol out of your belt and secure it within the vehicle in a place where you can readily access it. No one is suggesting that people should leave a gun on a magnet or in a vehicle unattended.

No problem, although I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the magnetic mounts because I know it's more likely that I'm going to be in a car wreck than a gun fight. I like to keep my gun secured in the console.
