Each time they said they were searching and were entitled to do so. Once to find ownership of car and more recently because it was being towed they wanted to "do inventory".

MikeFresno: Is that within city limits? Can you open carry unloaded? All my experience is in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose. Oakland. Not gonna happen in the largest of cities, that's fa sho.

I can carry anywhere in Cali except SF. Even if you have CCW you cannot conceal carry in SF. Which is dumb

Oh yea you cannot open carry loaded or unloaded. Unless your on your own property you can open carry. I live on 7 acres & open carry on my property all the time. If you live in a neighborhood I wouldn't open carry in my front yard even though its legal you can bet cops will still be called

I'm not a fan of open carry, that meaning I personally wouldn't do it. It attracts unnecessary attention and is distracting. Concealed makes sense.

You can carry concealed ANYWHERE in CA? How is that? Most jurisdictions maintain control by not recognizing another jurisdictions laws. Mebbe pm me if you want it on the down low. LOL

Prolly the ONLY way I'll ever carry in my truck in CA is with this ultimate concealment, now the key is speed:

Default NEW, Just Found this Thread. Though I'd Share

I've been waiting for this post for a long time. Usually I carry on me all the time. What good is a weapon if its not on you? But I came up with this pretty cool set up that keeps my gun out of sight (behind my knee) and easily accessible at all times. This is a Blackhawk Disconnect found on ebay, with a standard Right hand blackhawk holster. The gun is a Sig Pro (SP2022) 9mm. My P220 .45 also fits this holster. I flip my right hand over (thumb down), disengage the holster with my index and the angle of the gun is perfect for a quick draw. It is very secure, and the 5% tint keeps this baby hidden when I'm not in the vehicle. (Gun comes with me)

DAMN RIGHT!!! Bottom line, nothing wrong with being prepared. I carry evey day, but the only way you are going to see it is if it is a last resort and my life is in danger. Trust me, I know about carrying everyday and crazy things happen. I would MUCH rather have it and never need to pull it than NEED it and not have it. The law is more in our favor here, but using good judgement is key. Most people I meet never know that I carry and there is no reson for them to know.

Liking the 2022... If you have not done it yet, look at guiderods.com. It's an inexpensive upgrade but one that is worth it. I use to shoot IDPA with a 9mm 2022, but have since upgraded to a custom 1911. Can't go wrong with a SIG.

Tucson, AZ here... Had to pull my gun one time and I know without a doubt in my mind that it protected me and deterred the person approaching.

As far as mounts, the only two I would buy are the gum creek (fugly) or the texascustom holsters that are leather. For all those cheapy guns (Glocks and XD's lol Jk) the plastic holsters are ok but for my full size Colt 1911 Lightweight, it stays in leather 100 percent of the time. I can't deal with unnecessary nicks and wear on my bluing, just like I can't deal with it on my truck.

codash... I am also interested to see how you like those Olukai flip flops. I haven't put down the cash for them yet, but am thinking about it.
