For the one in the 'open' I'd try to find a holster you can mount to the interior so that you can safely leave a round in the chamber
I've thought about getting a holster for the truck, but I haven't found one that I like yet. These magnets are STRONG Stronger than I anticipated. I feel perfectly safe using it with my Springfield XD(m) because it has 2 passive safeties and most of the time I leave it in my concealed carry holster. Only during a long drive would I see myself using the magnet under the seat. I made sure I could get a good safe grip on the pistol before I finally drilled the holes and mounted it there.
My vault finally got here yesterday but I am not going to mount for a few days. Since I use Sticky holsters for my cc I have used these in my last few vehicles. I just keep the holster on my side and mount this in the console when I need to lock it away. Mounts with a huge velcro pad and you can tilt as you like.
Did you add the Velcro to the Holster, I looked at them but did not see the Velcro?
The only issue I see with many of these firearm mounting locations is the visibility problem. In this present climate of people being scared by anything and everything, especially things that go "Bang" a firearm being seen can initiate a phone call and all the stupid problems that can follow. I used to be a bit paranoid about leaving a firearm in a vehicle, but over time I decided that having it in the vehicle is better than having it at home! Hard to carry concealed in Florida, no clothes to hide it under, and even printing is illegal. I don't share my location, but it can't be seen unless it is looked for.
