Yeah, just sucks when you want to run into the store or make a stop, seems like it would be a hassle if your not comfortable leaving it there all the time

REALLY, automatic weapons are prohibited in Canada I had no idea, or should I have just started it with thanks tips. I know the gun laws of Canada, and know a few guys in the US that own automatic weapons, do some research in Saskatoon, cause I know you have nothing better to do

It's not all peace and quiet in Canada. There's certainly quite a bit of violence there too...even though where I live I've never felt threatened in any way..I sure wish they'd stop *****ing out on criminal punishment...5 years max for manslaughter, come on!! It's good for the criminal and bad for the victim..selling drugs is a slap on the wrist, it's a wonder why there's not a ton of crime! A guy that broke into my dad's business is getting 2 years, and that's with cocaine possession and attempted murder. But overall I've never felt the need to have personal protection in Canada. People that break into your house are usually idiot kids with no intention of hurting anyone. Not that that makes a difference, but crime in calgary is usually confined to the crime-prone areas of the city.

Here in California even being here for short times sometimes I feel a little on-edge.

I feel fine leaving my house and not locking the door, I don't need a gun if someone breaks into my house.
I am a law enforcement officer in The United States of America and I am reminded DAILY why it is a good idea for law abiding citizens to be afforded the right to possess firearms. To say what you two are saying shows me you are truly blind to the evil in this world and have been lucky enough to have not been victimized by it. God forbid this ever happen, but you'd change your tune very quickly if someone helped their way into your home and raped your wife or child, or worse...took the life of one or both. Sorry for the bluntness of my comments but your comments are truly ignorant.

That being said. This is a thread about gun mounts in our trucks for the personal protection we are afforded and entitled to by way of our forefathers. SO if you have nothing to contribute to this thread other than creating controversy I suggest you kindly **** off

I have been thinking about carving out some wood and putting my 1911 in it mounted where the cup holder slides out. Then adding a small magnetic lock running off an aux. battery with a hidden release button to maintain positive control. Most magnetic locks made for cabinets hold 300-500lbs so more then enought force to protect the gun.

Trust me I have seen what guns do, like I said spent 2years in combat. I will not be victimized, and I don't need a gun to prevent it.
