I feel fine leaving my house and not locking the door, I don't need a gun if someone breaks into my house.
Except for a few instances, all the gun violence that happens here is from people that don't care or follow the law. Or the mentally unstable. Yes there are a few stories of law abiding citizens making bad decisions (certain Florida case comes to mind) but there aren't that many.

That has nothing to do with war, it's is the law enforcement point of view. I am on federal boarding team and conduct various inspection of international vessels. The people who stow away, smuggle drugs, or commit violent crimes don't care. I carry a gun off duty for the same reason I carry one while working, personal protection for those who seek to do my family, others, or this nation harm.

I mean I've spent 2years in combat, and I have never had a need to fire on full auto, mainly because its not accurate fire, and it's a waste of ammo
Fully automatic guns have been illegal since 1964. They are not even part of the argument.

Am I missing something? I thought the title to this thread was "Pistol Mount". Can we have more pictures or ideas of pistol mounts in our trucks, please? I can go to the off topic section to discuss gun rights, but instead I came here to look at pistol mounting options.

I've learned a few things when it comes to discussing guns and political views. When having a civil discussion with someone with opposing views, neither party will ever convince the other why he/she believes the things he/she does. It's a lose-lose situation, and that's why I am here to look at pistol mounting ideas.

One of the advantages of having standard cab truck was being able to mount a holster behind the console with easy access from the drivers seat.

you are obviously very confused as the general public is prohibited from owning fully automatic weapons in both canada and usa.

Uhh, I think it would be a better idea to mount it somewhere else. Around here there is lots of B@E's with kids breaking into cars. A passerby could spot that and it would be the last time you see it. Maybe a compartment under the centre console or a fold out compartment behind the glovebox would be a better idea

I don't want to add to the off topicness of this thread, but it is actually legal to own fully automatic weapons in the USA. However, they are extremely expensive (cost prohibitive), and there are extensive background checks required in order to purchase one. The reason they are so expensive, is because you cannot legally purchase one built after a certain date. Basically whatever was on the market prior to the date (IIRC, 1986), is all that is available. That is why you are talking 10s of thousands of dollars for some fully auto rifles.

It is a common misconception of those that believe nobody can own them, and then you have those that believe people are buying them from your corner grocery store.

Anyway

I dont know about you but I never leave my pistol in the truck alone nor should anyone. This would be for using ONLY when Im in the truck. If Im not in my truck my pistol is with me.

I like the location for quick access. It is very exposed, as long as you don't leave it in the truck it's in a great spot.
