For carry, I prefer a SA/DA. That way I can chamber a round and decock the hammer and still have a pistol I can shoot without having to remember to turn the safety off. The first shot is going to be tough because of the hard trigger pull but it'll fire in a hurry. I carry mine the way I want and don't need to justify my decisions to anyone.
I'm lucky to be in AZ, another state that is gun friendly. You don't need a permit to carry concealed in AZ. My wife and I both have our CCW anyways. The courses do teach a lot about laws that people don't normally know and could be helpful if the time comes that you ever need to use a weapon.
I’ve been following this post, hopefully to see some ideas about the magnets or other ways to mount/carry a gun in the truck. But like always we tend to get off topic, lol. I have a rubber mat thing in the cubby on the side of my console, that’s were my Glock rides. The mat keeps it from sliding around. I don’t have a picture of it, but it’s nothing special. I don’t have kids or have any kids riding with me, so that’s out of the question.
also about the 1911’s.... i personally think it’s too heavy to conceal carry compared to my Glock. It’s just a heavy gun. It’s a custom built, and I’ve personally machined and hand fitted every part in it. It has never jammed or gave me issues. I wouldn’t have a problem carrying it and trusting my life with it.
a bullet in the chamber is always up for discussions. I carry either way just depending on where or how I feel at the time.
I’ll post some gun **** anyways just to help things move along!! Below is my Polymer80 glock I just finished building and my faithful 1911!

That's right! There are an aweful lot of us law abiding citizens her in TN that are armed most if not all of the time. We're also "Stand your Ground" and a "Castle Doctrine" state. Your truck is considered your castle!
I have loaded guns tucked away all over the house, none with a safety and all with a round in the chamber. I carry with one in the chamber at all times. Been thinking about the magnets as well. Although I have absolutely NO concern for what any passivist around here thinks, I do have concern for how my leather is getting scratched by the butt of my pistol. Would love to see an example of an unsecured firearm going off in a wreck.
