I haven't found any good places yet so for now I just keep mine in between the seat and center console

If you are anti-gun, please keep your opinions to yourself as I am of the pro-gun persuasion. Don't waste your time and my time by replying because you won't change my mind.

I had thought about inside the console (tons of room)but that would mean having to lift cover. Also down by knee but too obvious.

How about to the front of the console down between the console and the flip open door to access the usb outlet. There is an area that kind of angles back that appears to be storage for maps or paperwork of some sort.

Lets hear your thoughts.

Please keep this thread on target.

I remember seeing a holster mounted directly under the steering column on a gun thread in this forum. It looked easily accessible, and well placed. I cannot for the life of me remember which thread, but if I will find it I will post the picture.

This seems to be a pretty popular option. It's a little more "out in the open." But wouldn't be a problem while driving. I would hate to get pulled over with it there though:

ive always liked the idea of the holster under the column, but our steering wheel is rather large, seems like its more of a hassle to draw the weapon when you would really need it.

If you have a permit and act appropriately when stopped, it shouldn't be a problem.
I was always told if pulled over with a firearm, to take the keys out of the ignition, loop the keyring on your finger, place both hands on top of the steering wheel, and point the "keyringed" finger up so the officer can see the keys. I'm not sure if that's a universal signal of sorts, or if i was just being fed full of crap. However, I've only had one officer ask me why i was doing that, and she took her hand off her sidearm when I told her. She seemed very pleased at my actions.

No doubt. I could just see things escalating quickly if the cop is jumpy and sees the firearm before you have a chance to speak. The fact that the firearm is readily accessible probably wouldn't help your case. I had this setup in my 2010 and didn't have any issues. But I never got pulled over either. It was always in the back of my head.

And the requirement for concealment might not be met with that rig.

I want to mount a left handed Inside the waistband holster between my seat and console. Just to stop it from sliding down. Just haven't gotten around to starting that project yet.

I think if your doing a CCW, your requirements will need to be met for the state that your in, it does appear that they vary quite a bit from area to area. I would make my decision based on that.

As far as placement, I would try something that is going to be easy to get to in case of need. Personally, I prefer my firearm on my body, that way if I somehow get separated from my vehicle, I have a firearm. Also, I carry more than 1 firearm, 1 on me and at least 2 in the vehicle.
