So...Do you think or believe that just because you don't like or approve of a feature of the truck that everyone else should also agree with you?
.
If you read my responses throughout this thread, I very clearly don't feel that way...at all! Heck, if you read the title of my post, it's very clearly a question...seeking the opinion of others! I'm never going to use the cargo camera either, but it doesn't feel like an outdated feature...to me. I personally would have preferred the cargo camera being used to show me the view out back from my rear view mirror, but Ford apparently believed that the keypad was a more useful feature.

I am surprised this many people use it.
When I go hunting, I don't drive through the woods and hills to get to my stand. I normally park wherever I'm allowed, just off of a (normally) well-travelled road and then hike it in.

As far as camping, I have a camper on a lake shore and next to a dock (along with 50 or more other campers). The locks on campers are cheap, the keypad on my truck is FAR more secure.

The key fob stays in my Ford authorized Console Vault (another 4-number dial lock), If they try to smash into my truck, the alarm will stay on until they crack that safe too.

If you need it, the keypad is incredibly convenient.

to each their own. I use the keypad on my truck (and explorer) exclusively. I haven't had to carry a key in years.

I've only owed 1 vehicle w/ a key pad. A 2013 Ford Escape. Never used it once... Never bothered to learn the code numbers. That being said, Ford put a lot of money into researching " Will this option sell more cars & trucks?"

Vehicles are stolen all the time because the keys were left in the vehicle. Often unattended with the engine on.

You lock the truck to begin with because a lot of people are opportunists who will gladly open an unlocked door and very quietly steal things from inside, but aren't willing to break in and set off the alarm and draw all that attention.

If the keyfob is left inside the truck...and the truck is locked...doesn't the tailgate still open?

No, it won't. It will be locked, period.

Two words. Hell No!

I use those buttons all the time to lock my doors. Much easier to push two buttons than it is to reach into my pocket and pull out my phone, unlock it, open the app, then hold the lock button for a couple seconds.

Also good if I forget something, usually in the back seat or box, and can easily just unlock it.

Ford, please never give up the keyless entry buttons.

The reason why the buttons haven't changed in 25 years is because they work. Humans use to design things to make our lives easier, or work faster. Now we design things just to be different or to say "I did that". I've worked for a railway in the signal dept for 22 years and have seen things change for the worse. We use to be able to quickly get a remote download from a site in under a minute. Now it takes about 30 minutes. We use to be able to remotely see train overviews very easily. Now it's very cumbersome to see an overview and that's if it even works.

If something works then leave it alone. I'm very happy how the buttons look on my truck. You know why? Because they work every single time.
