Based upon the responses in this thread, that would **** off a whole lot of people! It wouldn't have any impact on my life, as I never have any need to ever use the keypad from 1985

It would, it is an extremely reliable and extremely popular, highly functional asset.

You are free to pitch the idea of spending tens of millions of dollars (or more) to make it less reliable if you think they might for it though. 'cause, you know, truck buyers are all about spending more money to make their truck look trendy and hip

You can keep repeating your opinion that I'm somehow a "hipster", but given that you don't know anything about me, your opinion is ridiculous! Again, I'm in my fifties, and could give less than a **** about anything being "trendy and hip". Beyond that, I'm not the truck owner who "modifies" my truck. There isn't a single thing on my truck that didn't come like it is directly from the factory...including Ford's ****ty floor mats! If Ford consulted me about the buttons, my suggestion wouldn't ever be to make them more "trendy and hip". That's akin to trying to make a VCR fall into the same category, because that's the era that the buttons are from!

I hate to break it to you, but, in that case, you have a security breach, and someone else is posting to this forum with your user name. Might want to update those passwords!

I wonder how the insurance claim will go when the truck gets stolen and the keys were inside... I just cannot imagine leaving keys in the truck in USA, let alone here in Europe... I guess if you are out in the boonies hunting or something, why even lock the truck to begin with. To me, this is a useless feature providing a security concern. I am surprised this many people use it.

Not that I wish to engage with the rhetoric in this thread...but...just a quick question as this theme seems to present itself in so many threads in so many topics.

Clearly you do not agree with or approve of the keypad any longer...or ever.
So...Do you think or believe that just because you don't like or approve of a feature of the truck that everyone else should also agree with you?

Now I use mine all the time.
Usually at the lake...as I leave my keys in the cottage.
Then I'll use the keypad to open the tailgate.
