Is It Time To Remove The Keyless Entry Buttons?
I use my keypad all of the time. Often times I will lock my key and phone in the truck if I am going to the beach, as I don't want to leave my phone sitting on the beach while I might go in for a swim. Regarding the button design, yeah it seems outdated, but at least with these buttons I don't have to remove my gloves (work gloves or winter ski gloves) to use them.
My 2 cents, I like em', cosmetics of the things, meh, who cares, its a truck... Real convenient when I'm outside working on something and I don't wanna run inside to get my keys to throw something in the bed (it's covered). My wife's Edge have the capacitive sensor type and I agree with other folks here, they are not as convenient in the winter with gloves on, but are more attractive. On the antenna thing, I've asked some folks at Ford the same question and they stated (and its true), these are my words, shark fins and stubby antennas work like **** for AM and many of the customers for ford trucks are using them for work trucks and in the middle of nowhere and need GOOD AM reception. So if you hate the whip, you have a plethora of aftermarket products to purchase and they are mostly cheap, so go ditch the whip and put a 50 cal. round in its place, but get ****ty AM reception. My 2 cents....

The key in the truck is locked out until the keypad code is used. Or you can use another key fob. The fob in the truck is useless until then. If someone breaks in, even with the fob in the truck it will not start.
Actually, you didn't quote me correctly, at all. If you read what I wrote below, I very clearly stated that others had complained about wind noise coming from the antenna on this very forum. Feel free to search for the posts. As I said the wind noise was never an issue for me, because I removed the antenna immediately. There is zero need to have an antenna on the fender of any vehicle in 2022. Hell, GM started using windshield antennas on some of their vehicles way back in the 1970's, so this isn't exactly cutting edge technology! Again, the wind noise was never an issue for me as it relates to the antenna. I'm just not sure why any manufacturer is still using that type of antenna in 2022, when it can just be built into the windshield.
The antenna sucks! Ford could put it directly into the windshield just like every other manufacturer does, and get the same exact reception. I don't live among corn fields, so yes, my reception hasn't change, even a little. Perhaps, it's diifferent for those who live in very rural areas. Again, rural or not, the technology has existed for a long time to move away from the 1960's era whip antennas and not have an antenna cause the wind noise that many have complained about or needing to remove it every time they want to run their vehicle through a car wash.
