Software Updates
Your truck is on Sync version 22177, which means your truck is behind on updates. That software is almost a year old. The last time your truck recorded an OTA was in December of last year. The older updates your truck needs are rarely pushed out by Ford and sometimes fail to install, but there is nothing wrong with your truck that would make it incapable of getting updates. The only thing I see wrong with your truck is that it is recording DTC's for low battery voltage every time it is driven. A low battery charge can prevent updates from installing when they are sent, so I would have your local dealer perform a Rotunda test to verify it is working the way it should. These trucks have a lot of tech and modules that are always working and a good battery is something you want to make sure you have. If you do get sent one of these older updates, you want to make sure your truck's battery is in a good state to take advantage of the update and have it install successfully.
I’ve lost my Lane Keeping feature following the recent update (4/23/23). Camera clean, cruise on etc just couldn’t get it going. Any advice? I went into General and reset to initial Ford settings. BTW I only have 5k miles and the feature has worked fine up until last week. TIA for any advice.
it seems that my rig will only engage Lane Keeping at 40 MPH. Also over the last few weeks the road crew did some road work which changed my trucks ability to see the lines. Just took a 60 mile jaunt on a state highway with good lines and it works fine.
thanks for the help Allen
Thanks so much for the quick reply! Very helpful info that I would have otherwise never known. I know you said Ford rarely pushes these older updates, but is there a general release cycle that they do push? I'll schedule some time at my dealer to get them to check the battery and see if they can force the update.
Anyone able to check FDRS and see what updates I have available? I’ve gotten 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 power ups and suspect 4.2.3 to arrive soon but just wondering if anything else could be updated before purchasing a license for the weekend.

Hey All -
An update to my previous message. I contacted the Over the Air team regarding my '21 XLT being on 2.7.4 and they recommended I take my truck in to the dealership to get looked at. I took it to the dealership, explained everything, and they kept it for the day. When they called me back they said that my truck is "not scheduled for an update, so there is no update they can give," the "OTA team has no clue what they are talking about," and that full-screen Carplay "will never" come in an update to my truck. Check-mate for me it appears.

This is why so many of us decided to say f*ck Ford and performed the updates ourselves.

I just got my truck and it's outdated and I'd like full screen and the bed camera so I'll be doing the DIY route when I get round to it.
Well, it's true that the OTA team has no idea what they're talking about. What your dealer didn't say is that they have even less of an idea what they're talking about if they honestly believe that full screen capability is not available over an OTA update. That, or they just lied to you because the updates your truck requires is not something they can bill Ford for, so they won't work for free.
