You sure about that? My Powerboost came from the factory with Auto Start/Stop enabled and it works flawlessly. Runs on the hybrid battery pack until it needs to be recharged or until I call for extra speed. This is what gives you 24mpg. I can see why you wouldn't want it if your 12V starting battery is giving you problems...you'd worry that it wouldn't start up again. Believe you can disable Auto Start/Stop with ForScan.
That's why I called it "start/stop on steroids". 'Cause that's what hybrids do - shift back and forth seamlessly between an ICE and battery power.
it's kinda different from classical start/stop which shuts down the ICE when the vehicle is stopped.

Took my 2022 Job 1 King Ranch Powerboost back into Ford service this morning to have more updates installed after getting my truck back on Dec 23. At that time, @RickBullotta advised the dealer had updated the PCM, ABS, SOBDMC, TRM, APIM, & IPMA modules and I still needed updates to the DSM, BCM, WACM & TCU modules. @rugedraw confirmed the last module updated that day was the IPMA.

Just received a SecuriAlert notice the door was opened and the Android widget indicates the driver door and window are open. So the tech has hopefully started to do some updates.

My question today has to do with the Hands-Free availability date. When I took delivery last Apr, my SYNC was Version 21297 Revision 253 and Hands-Free was available until Oct 9. I took the truck in for an oil change on Nov 27 and noticed the Hands-Free had updated at some point to Dec 10. Before I took it back to the dealer on Dec 12 for the module updates mentioned above, the Hands-Free again updated to Apr 13, 2023. After the module updates, my SYNC is Version 22293 Revision 610, but the Hands-Free was still Apr 13. Before dropping off the truck at the dealer this morning, I noticed my Hands-Free is now available until Jun 10, 2023.

How is the Hands-Free availability updated? I asked my SA, but he just shrugged his shoulders and indicated a third party was responsible for sending updates. The only OTAs I've ever received that I know of are a map update on Apr 4, 2022 before I took delivery and 3.5.2 around Sep 15, 2022. The Hands-Free availability has updated at least three times now. Is it really a big mystery?

Just received a phone call from the dealer saying all the outstanding module updates as mentioned in the previous post above were successful and my truck is ready for pickup.

Can anyone verify that for VIN

I recently picked up my truck from service after being told they updated numerous modules. Not only that, they managed to brick my left headlight module performing said updates, so would possibly be interesting to see what comes up on the search. I took my truck in for a new clock ring in the steering wheel and a couple misc things, not the updates. They had the truck almost two weeks and had trouble sourcing the headlight module. I wonder if there’s more to that story..

I’d be really appreciative if someone could please run my vin. 1FTEW1EP7MKD83140

Thanks!

So I called the dealer near me to confirm if they can install blue cruise for me. They said they could install it and I made an appointment. About a couple of days before the appointment, the FordPass app constantly gives me notifications about updates that it installed. To my surprise, blue cruise was installed and now I have a one year subscription. This all happened last week.

I can see they updated more modules today, but I don't have FDRS to confirm they did them all.

There is bad BCM update in FDRS that is causing headlight issues. It is crazy to me how us the forums know more about these things than Ford and Ford technicians do.

Edit: The bad BCM update has been pulled from FDRS. In your case, they did it a few weeks ago I am assuming?

The other network connection for the TCU I see daily seems to be the one used for sending/receiving commands from FordPass like remote start, door locking, etc and also sending data back to ford for the various online services.

It will be interesting to see if 3.5.3 or 3.5.3.2 gets delivered here soon.
@rugedraw Do you have any idea the size of the 3.5.3 or 3.5.3.2 OTAs? My TCU connection has gone active for the last 15 minutes with data dribbling across the network at a very slow speed maybe around 5-6KB/sec. Not sure if different modules accept data at different speeds or not. I know back for the 2.7 OTA, it was coming fast with 2GB downloaded in 20 minutes. Let me know if you have any insight. Thanks!

Ya, it was right before it was pulled. I even warned them about it after they mentioned they were going to update all modules. Go figure.

I don't feel like mathing right now. lol You can add up all the files listed on the left box of the screenshot below.

With your VIN, I can check PTS to see if you have an OTA in queue or not, too.

Wow. Chances are they will have to replace the BCM now. Unless you have a Mongoose. In that case, the guys on that forum may be able to help you get it back yourself.
