Software Updates
Mine is at the dealership today, they have had it hooked up all day and are apparently working with ford to try to get it fixed. I hope they didn't make it worse........ Downside is that they have NO vehicles to loan me so they can keep it for tomorrow. All their loaner and salesman demos are loaned out to other service customers waiting for backordered parts. UGH

I was in the same position. If I wanted a loaner, I had to get in line and it was a 5-6 week queue... Was luckily able to take it in over the holiday and left it for 3 days to ultimately get the IPMA reprogrammed and calibrated. Knock on wood all is working well so far since the updates. Good Luck with yours!!
OK, so the dealer had the truck for 2 days. They said that they had a hard time getting it to update. They stated they updated several modules, some by computer and some by a flash drive. They apparently needed a Ford engineer's assistance. I picked it up today, and........... nothing is different except my phone doesn't tell me I need an update any more. The auto update is still greyed out, the version and software info is still blank, Android auto is still not working, etc. drove right back and the advisor was puzzled and I'm going to have to go back tomorrow to show the tech that worked on it. Sigh.
Worst part is I am starting to fall out of love with my truck. I drooled for so long to get it and now I get frustrated so often when having to re-set-up the my view, gauges, and the radio sets itself to XM2.

Man...I've got to unsubscribe from this thread. The posts are giving me nightmares and I don't even have my truck yet.

Any thoughts on finding a different dealer, maybe one with techs who have been trained to work on Gen14 vehicles? Don't know your situation; I've got more than half a dozen dealers in easy driving range of me.

I picked mine up on July 2 ( North Country Ford in Cool Rapids since I see you are local). Easiest sale process I have ever had, a fantastic price, and great service. Since then, I have put on ~6K miles, found out that North Country covers your first two services (oil change, rotation, ect), and have had exactly ZERO problems. Any time I spent worrying was absolutely wasted.

My truck was a pretty early build, so the issues that I am having hopefully are not an issue on newer builds.

Dummies tell others to glue up insulation to the undercarriage and expect it not to fall on rotating parts.... I swear the engineers forget about gravity sometimes. Software is no different.
It's hard to anticipate everything, or having an exception handler for crazy unlikely things. Stuff gets left on the backlog all the time.
But paying $60k+ for a vehicle comes with some expectations. Especially if you want me to use the touch screen for everything. Especially if you tell me I can start my truck from an app, and keep tabs on my truck via a security system that you've basically had available to Fleet for a decade.
Did you previously have the issue with the automatic update settings are not functional in the software update screen before this update was received?
