I guess I started a monster with this thread.
I am in the camp that Ford should be more transparent about the S/W updates they push and what they are intended to do. Unlike a computer, cell phone, app, etc., I am concerned about the safety aspects of what is going on with all this technology that is going into our vehicles today. I still do not have any indication that I have ever received any updates since I purchased the vehicle in April (mid February build date). It shows I have Navigation version 1.41R, and SYNC 4 revision 243. It shows connected to my wifi in my garage and when quarried, it says S/W is up to date. Auto update is on. This is an XLT with Group 302A package.
I like many of the features of the truck, but have concerns about the "Co-Pilot Assist". I have had some strange reactions using it, especially during highway interchange transitions. I sometimes think I wish I could get the "Blue Cruise" just to eliminate the naggings I get about keeping your hands on the wheel. I always have my hands on the wheel, but if I don't offer constant resistance to the wheel, it thinks I don't have hold of the wheel. Wondering if the steering wheel cover I put on might be contributing to that. I don't think even if I had Blue Cruise I would trust it to keep my hands off the wheel for more then a couple of seconds based on the "assist" performance.
I am reluctant to put my vin number out there on the forum to have someone check on updates for me, along the lines of displaying my Social Security number and birthdate. Ford should have this available, I don't understand why they don't.
I have had Automatic Updates enabled since I got my F150. Today I just noticed the Notifications option and both that and auto updates is grayed out and I can't select them.

Maybe your data introductory period expired and you haven’t connected to a wifi source?
Just got notification via Ford Pass app for the following update. I purchased my truck in June (I think?) and have had no previous updates that I am aware of. Also, I've been an early access participant since August with no communication from Ford regarding the illusive Blue Cruise.

Same as mine. Does your “about sync” also not show a version/revision number? (See my pic above)
Still hoping this is normal behavior while the truck is gradually downloading a big OTA.
I just turned off Auto updates and turned on notifications. Based on what I am seeing here makes me wonder if Ford can only push updates to a small number vehicles per day? Again my Mid February build truck I purchased just over 6 months ago does not look to have ever received any updates. Still showing Navigation version 1.41R, and SYNC 4 revision 243 but says "Up to Date". Is there some paper spreadsheet at Ford that my truck did not get on?
Another update I was looking for is the ability to use the stickers for the Trailer Back-up Assist. I have the provided module installed on my travel trailer. I received a stack of stickers that are suppose to be usable after a future update. Does anyone know if this update has ever been put out? I have another trailer I could use this on.
I’m seeing the same thing; auto updates and notifications are turned off, and when I try to turn them on, the toggles do not respond. Also, when I check schedule, my set update date and time have disappeared, and it won’t let me set a new one. It’s been like this for a couple of days, but yesterday when I checked auto updates had turned itself back on, and my schedule had returned. Not sure if this is coincidence or not, but when I checked yesterday the truck was not connected to my WiFi. Vulnox had told me a few days ago that I was queued up for 1.7.1, so I wonder if this is normal behavior when the truck is working on/digesting a big download?
I read your post and reproduced the same on my truck last night. However, I was able to set the update time for 2am. I received a notification via the Ford Pass app that my truck had been updated this morning to 1.7.1.
I think it may have downloaded or may have been downloading the update on or before last night. If I clicked the update details, the truck had previously said it was up to date.
