2024 Refresh
That's where it's going
The HVAC is there permanently on the bottom of the screen. It's not a physical tactile button but you don't have to do anything but press straight up on the hvac
and as Ford has stated they are looking to reduce parts that can fail which ends up costing money in warranty repairs. If they remove buttons and switches, it saves them money in the cost (albeit minor) and warranty repair costs if needed.
Can people driving a truck not press on the screen when they need to change their HVAC temps to be even more perfectly comfortable? This isn't like the door code buttons remaining rubber pushers since the middle of the dash shouldn't be getting rained or snowed on or anything.
If you're being manly many truck stuff, just leave the hvac set where it's at and you'll be fine if you don't want to hit the screen?
The volume **** is still a large physical **** dial.
Why does being a truck matter?

I've had a previous vehicle that had this and it was very annoying and when driving down the road, it becomes a bigger distracting honestly. Rotating a **** is easier in a sense and something you can feel without looking at the **** knowing if you are decreasing/increasing the temp or not. If you've never experienced it then it's easy to say that it's not that big of a deal.

Look at my signature.
I own the aforementioned 2023 Expedition with the big screen and only one ****.
It's 100% good. Trust me...I literally own it.
One factor, BTW, with how Ford did it with these is that the hvac controls, while on a touch screen, are large. You don't have to look your hand in all the way till you press it or miss by a mm.
