I bought my setup from texasfording. Everything was already coded to my truck and made some other coding changes I asked for. Was great to deal with!!!

i have a 2012 f150 with sync, not sure of which version. What is entailed to update/upgrade it to sync3?

 

Your only option is aftermarket.

I made the switch in my 2015 from mytouch to Sync 3. Truck came with Nav but never used it so I replaced with a non nav APIM.

The truck had all the options less Sony and heated steering wheel and here is what I did to get the non-nav running.

Have had some trouble updating the software to v 3.0. All the vins I have tried end up being from a unit that had foactory navigation. Does anyone have a vin from a non nav unit so I can get the update?

Looks like you have the answers and have been recommended for the sync upgrade.

I have a 2015 F150 with the 8" screen and no nav. I would like to upgrade to sync 3 with car play. Would is the easiest/best solution?

I posted that my 2017 had a small screen and I would like to know what it might take to install the 8" screen along with a nav capabilities.
I hope you might advise me in what direction I should go and what the cost might be.
