Default I’ll bite the bait.

Having owned three fords, my 18 was a nightmare! Like you I switched back to Ram. After driving my 19 for a year now, I haven’t had one issue! It’s comfortable and fun to drive. My towing capacity is over 11k with a 1775 payload. Which is more then I’ll ever need with a half ton truck. This is my 2nd ram truck. Perhaps my biggest mistake was switching from Ram to ford! Here in western Pennsylvania I’m seeing more Rams on the road then fords. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The only other V8 on the same level as the Coyote is Nissan’s 5.6 V8. Folks don’t realize it but Ford engines are engineering marvels that usually are found in expensive European or Japanese luxury/performance cars. Ford’s EB engines will stand toe to toe with BMW’s renowned turbo 6 cylinders. The Coyote has all the same specs as the Lexus 5.0 V8. Meanwhile GM and Fiat are still pushing the pushrod tech. This is why the “little” DOHC 32V, dual VCT and variable induction 5.0 outruns the bigger 16V 5.7 HEMIs all day everyday.
Yeah, I marvel at what my little 2.7 is capable of quite often. Nearly two years later I'm still not quite used to it. The best way I can describe it is it feels almost like I'm driving a small sporty car, what with the engine note and how spryly it moves the truck. An odd sensation in a 5000 pound vehicle, yet I find it very satisfying. It truly is a world-class engine that would have been considered exotic in any other vehicle back in 2015.

Ford certainly has its problems and I've vented here about it more than once. It's just the OP's reasoning is...odd. Glad you like your Ram, I do believe they are good trucks and I wouldn't have hesitated to buy one had the price been right at the time. Funny how those of us from different parts of the country have had such wildly different experiences when it comes to the pricing of Chevy vs Ford vs Ram. Around here, Ford almost always has the best deals by far.

I remember when, back round 2000-ish, Honda put a little tiny 4 banger in the S2000 go-kart and magazines raved all over their covers about its incredible 120 hp per liter. Yay, 2.0 liters and 240 horsepower. And 150 lbs of torque.

Now we've got a 2.7 liter at 120 hp/liter and 400 lbs of torque

In all fairness, for a 4cyl NA engine of that era, those were impressive figures. It's actually still pretty impressive in today's engine world. Everyone else needs FI to get similar HP/L.

I guess I kind of just don't care about something that has 150 lbs of torque no matter how small it is

Honda got 123hp/liter out of a NATRUALLY ASPIRATED engine, Ford is using 2 turbochargers. Say what you want but getting that power out of an engine without forced induction, have a 8,900 rpm redline and the reliability of a Accord is impressive. Even 20 years later very few engines can match it's power output, including hypercars.
